Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi. Engari, he toa takitini
Success is not the work of one, but the work of many
20 hours per week
We have an exciting established permanent part-time position (20 hrs weekly) available for a Registered Social Worker working as part of the Oncology Team. This is a busy and exciting role working with adults and their families/whanau/caregivers. A key part of this position is to provide Social Work support for those within Oncology Services. In particular a focus will be to improve access for Maori, Pacific Islands People and those living in rural communities.
You will work alongside the current Oncology Social Worker and Oncology Team but will be a part of the wider Social Work Team, reporting to the Social Work Team Leader. You will be part of and have support from an experienced team delivering high quality social work support and health care and will have access to professional supervision and education learning opportunities. The HBDHB values the role of Social Work in Health and encourages Registered Social Workers to undertake further professional development.
Our vision is Te hauora o te Matau-ā-Māui: Healthy Hawke’s Bay
The following Hawkes Bay DHB organisational values naturally align with core principals of Social work.
- Tauwhiro (delivering high quality care to patients and consumers)
- Rāranga te tira (working together in partnership across the community)
- He kauanuanu (showing respect for each other, our staff, patients, and consumers)
- Ākina (continuously improving everything we do)
You’ll need to have knowledge and understanding of Social Work in health settings including working in a multi-disciplinary team. Experience working with people from a variety of backgrounds with long term health issues as well as a good understanding of local community agencies, services and supports would be beneficial. You’ll need to be flexible and able to work independently in the community.
We’d love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Hold full New Zealand Social Work Registration and have a current APC
- Degree in Social Work
- Have at least two years post graduate Clinical Social Work experience
- A driver’s licence
Closes 22 October 2017
