Logo Symbolism

ANZASW logoThe logo that appears on this website and other ANZASW publications appeared for the first time at the NZASW Conference in August 1986, held on the Turangawaewae Marae at which the Tangata Whenua Takawaenga o Aotearoa was formed.

It depicts an equal partnership between the indigenous people of the land and all other people who came after them.

It symbolises the bicultural commitment undertaken by the Manuhiri and Tangata Whenua social workers to work together in a professional and culturally appropriate way.
