Profile: The world is my oyster and I have decided to be open to new opportunities. After having a year off working, our last child has left home and it’s now my time to follow my passion.
I previously worked in a Women’s Centre running and introducing new CYFS approved programmes. This was a drop in centre and, alas, it meant being all things to all people if possible, or knowing where to re-direct clients when not.
Strong skill base includes, networking, advocacy, political, social change, client-centred, strengths-based, Treaty of Waitangi, anti-oppressive practice and big fund-raisers.
I tend to work well with clients with DV, parenting, Mental Health, Work & Income issues, and not limited but prefer not to work with elderly or youth so much. And yet, I think family work may be an area of interest in the future.
Holistic and mindfulness are my natural ways of working, with reflective practice being paramount to best practice.
