We offer a paper-based and face-to-face competency service, several publications including our bi-monthly NoticeBoard e-newsletter, continuing professional development and indemnity insurance. Members also have the opportunity to benefit from developing the profession, developing new skills, networking and collegial support, international links and support for research.
Historically the Association was established in 1964 in Dunedin, Otago, with a vision to set up Branches/Roopu throughout the country, to provide a public forum for discussion and to see education and training made widely available.
A bicultural framing underpinned by Te Tiriti O Waitangi to foster equitable collaboration between the diverse realities of ANZASW membership is integral to the Association in its role as a professional leader of social and community work in Aotearoa New Zealand.
The award of Life Membership is limited, as a very special honour, to approximately 1% of the Association’s total membership at any one time and clearly the contribution of nominees has been outstandingly demonstrated.
We are a great team at National Office and always ready to help!
