Head of Counselling, Christchurch

An exciting and seldom available opportunity to lead our Bachelor of Counselling programme in 2020 has arisen.

Vision College has a Christian special character operating nationwide from multiple campuses, and is seeking a dynamic and entrepreneurial leader to oversee our well established School of Counselling in Christchurch, which offers the Bachelor of Counselling.

Alongside key leadership objectives the role provides opportunity to contribute to lecturing, and participate in ongoing personal research in your fields of interest and expertise.

Our ideal candidate will have the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • Masters or higher level qualification
  • Research experience
  • Tertiary and/or clinical teaching experience
  • Counselling/psychological therapies practice and integration
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Culturally competent
  • Current practicing certificate with relevant professional body
  • Open to learning from others and mentoring colleagues

Our Bachelor of Counselling qualification is recognised as a transformative programme by our students and alumni. For over 20 years the School of Counselling has been developing Person Centred and experientially focused Counsellors, preparing them for membership of the Professional Associations (NZAC; NZCCA), and equipping them to engage in unique careers transforming the lives of others.
