Lead Caseworker – Skilled and experienced Social Worker

Full-time, Porirua-based – Foster Care 

This is rewarding and very demanding work.  Our incredible team of foster parents and social workers support rangatahi who do best in one-on-one intensive foster care. Our rangatahi have had extensive histories of being in care and bring with them experiences of trauma that has meant life has been very difficult for them and it can mean it is hard for those who care for them.  Our team is passionate about the care and protection of rangatahi.

You must genuinely have a heart for this work, as it will be that and your outstanding practice and your team that will keep you you sustained.

If you are passionate about best practice in social work, are an experienced practitioner, know what it means to take responsibility for quality, and believe young people in foster care deserve outstanding casework support – we have a key vacancy for a highly self-motivated achiever in our team.

This role will hold a small caseload supporting rangatahi aged between 9 and 16 and will also provide lead casework oversight to two other social workers and their caseloads, in our intensive foster care programme. It is an opportunity to work at the leading edge of foster care for rangatahi, in an organisation that supports nurtures and values you too.

Key attributes are:

  • Registered Social worker
  • Demonstrated experience of:
    • working alongside children and whānau
    • working within a multi-disciplinary environment
    • understanding child and adolescent development
    • understanding the impact of trauma on child development
  • Outstanding relationship, time management, administrative skills
  • The highest standards of personal and professional integrity
  • Full driver’s license
