MoU’s & Relationship Agreements
1.1 The purpose of this Relationship Agreement (‘Agreement’) is to record how the
Parties will work together in a collaborative and equal relationship regarding the
representation of social workers in New Zealand.
1.1 The purpose of this Memorandum of Understanding (‘Memorandum’) is to record how the Parties will work together in a collaborative relationship regarding the
registration of social workers in New Zealand. This includes the management of any competence, performance, conduct and fitness to practice issues for registered social workers.
1.2 This Memorandum does not provide a definitive legal interpretation of the Social Workers Registration Act 2003.
1.1 The purpose of the Co-ordinating Body is to reach collective decisions on IFSW, Including IFSW Asia Pacific, matters in such as but not limited to:
- IFSW Elections
- Voting at IFSW meetings
- Organisation of IFSW
- Nomination of social workers to serve on IFSW Committees
- Voting on Policy
- Promotion of Indigenous Social Work
Prior to Biennial General Meetings and Biennial Regional Meetings, the parties will develop a common position in relation to matters on the Agenda and provide direction to delegates from the Co-ordinating Body attending the meeting or voting by proxy.
Prior to responding to any IFSW initiated postal voting the parties will develop a common position in relation to matters.
For some issues it may be appropriate to identify representatives from each body with expertise on the issue who are mandated to progress further discussions on behalf of the whole group.
The Parties, whilst recognising the integrity and policies of each other, agree to work together in a spirit of collaboration upholding in practice the mana of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
