ANZASW Important Announcement: Chief Executive Resignation

The Board of Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers (ANZASW) reluctantly announces the resignation of our long serving Chief Executive, Lucy Sandford-Reed.

Lucy has served the association as CE for 11 years. During her time with the association, Lucy has absolutely invested herself to increasing the recognition and enhancement of the social work profession, and for this the Board is extremely grateful. Lucy has also led the head office team in a very agile, modern and collaborative manner.

Lucy has continuously advocated for the Association, especially its members both nationally and internationally and has dedicated her time to supporting social workers throughout Aotearoa. Of her many successes, Lucy has been fundamental in the establishment of mandatory registration and this is something she should be extremely proud of. Lucy has offered a forward thinking and collaborative approach to the role which has enabled the building of strong relationships with the Stakeholders and SWRB.

Lucy’s last day with the Association will be the 18th of March 2021. We wish Lucy well in her next venture as she takes on the role as General Manager with Greyhounds as Pets, a role that we know Lucy will excel in.

Ngā mihi maioha,

Sharyn Roberts
