Join the ANZASW Canterbury- Waitaha Collective for their final hui of 2018 and celebrate the Oranga Tamariki pay settlement as a significant milestone on the journey towards pay equity for our whole profession.

“There is still work to be done, but we are stronger as a profession if we stand together than become divided. Check out this podcast for more information on why the OT settlement is a win for our whole profession – http://www.reimaginingsocialwork.nz/2018/10/gender-pay-equity-for-social-workers-in-aotearoa-new-zealand/.

So let’s end the year united in our message that “all we want for Christmas is… pay equity!” And just coz we’re a pretty awesome bunch, we’ll be raising money for the Women’s Shelter at Christchurch City Mission while we’re at it…

At $25 per adult, $15 per child, tickets include a shared meal of pizzas, breads and wedges, as well as a $10 donation to the City Mission.

Please contact Kath on kath.harrison@ara.ac.nz for tickets and payment details.

We are a Social Work Collective who seek to be an informed voice on local issues in Waitaha-Canterbury. We are committed to engaging in social action, engaging with Tangata Whenua, and collaborating on issues with individuals, agencies, and communities. We aim to work in a sustainable way. We would love to see more members attend these meetings to help the branch to better represent your interests and meet your needs. See attached the minutes from the last meeting. Come along and be part of the kōrero.”
