Presenter: Angela Caughey

Angela Caughey cared for her husband Brian for 12 years after he was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia. She has written two books on living with and relating to people with dementia. She is also the author of 4 previous books.


Angela states compassionate communication is a critical aspect of caring for someone with dementia.

In this session she will discuss from first-hand experience and her own wide reading, the most effective ways of communicating with someone with dementia.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Knowledge of skills and techniques which will enhance communication with people with dementia.
  • Information and advice to pass on to family members of the person with dementia
  • Knowledge of resources and services for people with dementia and their support networks.

Attendees are able to ask questions and contribute via both audio and chat functions.
