The New Zealand Council of Christian Social Services, in association with VisionWest, is hosting a hui for members and others.

About this Event:

With the need to be demonstrating a greater response to delivering effective services for Māori and the July 1 changes to the Children, Young Peoples and their Families (Oranga Tamariki) Legislation Act concerning the legislative responsibilities of OT to Iwi, I thought you may be interested in the hui NZCCSS is hosting in conjunction with VisionWest. With that in mind I invite you and your senior staff to attend this hui details are below and attached. Noho ora mai

Kaupapa: With the importance of ensuring all social services are contributing to equity for Māori this wānanga will provide an opportunity to discuss how services can work with others to achieve better results.  In particular the wānanga will:

  • Share some NZCCSS members approaches to working more effectively with and for Māori
  • Consider the impacts of Section 7AA of the Children, Young Persons, and Their Families (Oranga Tamariki) Legislation Act 2017
  • Discuss how organisations may best respond to the implementation of Section 7AA
