Hospice NZ Conference 2021 – Call For Abstracts
Date(s) - 12/01/2021 - 26/02/2021
‘Whiria ngā tāngata – Weave the people together’
Following our decision to postpone this years planned Conference, we are very much looking forward to welcoming delegates to the rescheduled event for 2021.
The Hospice NZ Palliative Care Conference will be held in Auckland on 16-17 August 2021.
Call for abstracts – now open
We believe with the extraordinary events we have all experienced in 2020 you may have new experiences and insights to share and encourage you to submit an abstract as part of this new call for abstracts.
All abstracts that were submitted as part of the original Hospice New Zealand Palliative Care Conference 2020 will need to be resubmitted via the abstract submission portal, as well as welcoming new abstract submissions to be considered.
This is a completely new review process and only abstracts submitted in this Call for Abstracts will be considered.
We invite you to submit an abstract for an oral, poster, brilliant idea or workshop to share your research, practice knowledge and experiences and be part of the conference programme.
We welcome abstracts reflecting the conference theme, Equity | Diversity | Access.
Please allow at least 20 minutes to complete the online profile and abstract submission process.
You will be required to have:
- Contact details of lead contact – All communications and correspondence regarding this abstract submission will be sent to the person.
- Abstract written in the correct format (see below)
- Authors affiliations (organisation, city, region, country)
- Short biographies of presenting authors (maximum 400 words in total)
Closing date of abstract submission – Friday 26 February 2021
Notification of acceptance – Friday 26 March 2021
To encourage more people to present in a way they feel comfortable, we have included different presentation styles:
This is a traditional presentation, which may be supported with audio visual aids. Oral presentations will be allocated 20 minutes to present followed by 10 minutes for discussion and questions.
This is an invitation to provide a snappy presentation on an idea you would like to share. It can be something innovative you have invented, a new twist on the tried and true, or a technique from the past whose time has come to be resurrected. Brilliant ideas are strictly limited to 5 minutes.
This is an activity-based interactive session. It may be supported with visual materials, activities and handouts. Workshops will be allocated 60 minutes.
Posters are especially effective for information that can be presented visually (eg: photos, charts, graphs, tables). Poster Guidelines will be provided at time of acceptance.
