This is the national conference for all those working in social services with children, young people, whānau, families and communities, including practitioners, researchers and policy makers.
The SSPA 2020 Conference theme is about taking it to the next level. The programme will include a number of inspiring women leaders as keynote speakers, workshops, interactive and meetup sessions, a political panel, government agency speakers and lots more.
CALL FOR PAPERS
Our conference attendees tell us that the workshop programme is always one of the highlights of the conference. This year we are focusing on four workshop streams:
- The Big Picture – the big issues for our sector; new research; advocacy and action for change
- Connecting – collaboration initiatives for service delivery, organisational support, or partnerships
- Innovation – new ideas, approaches, practice tools, ways of organising
- Capability – ways to build our capability in workforce, practice, organisations.
There will be two sets of workshop sessions, so we are able to offer a total of eight workshops, one set on each day. Workshops that are interactive and designed to offer practical tools and ideas will be preferred. Some topics may better lend themselves to being a presentation with group discussion around new ideas and developments, or presentation of research findings.
SSPA is now calling for proposals to lead and facilitate workshops. The closing date is 5.00pm on Friday 20 March 2020.
