Branches, Roopu, Special Interest Groups, Work Places and Groups of Members are encouraged to plan events for World Social Work Day.

The Theme for 2019 is Promoting the Importance of Human Relationships.

This is an opportunity for ANZASW to join the international social work community to celebrate and promote the contributions of the profession to individuals, families, communities and wider society.

On World Social Work Day social work organizations throughout the world mark World Social Work Day by bringing messages to their governments, communities, and peer professional groups on the unique and significant contributions of the social work profession.

IFSW President Silvana Martinez invites social workers and organisational partners to co-brand the poster and send language translations to be displayed on the IFSW website. Dr Martinez said:

“World social work day and our joint actions are not only a demonstration of the profession’s unity, it is also an example of our influence in working towards a social justice world.”
