Housing First Senior Practitioner, Auckland
We are looking for a full-time Senior Practitioner who can join our Housing First team and share our passion in ending homelessness.
We need someone who has:
- 5 years’ experience working in the field that relates to: homelessness, social work, nursing, psychology, mental health, alcohol and other drugs, occupational therapy, counselling, social sciences, community development, sociology, support work
- Experience of leading teams and having oversight of practice areas related to vulnerable client groups (homelessness, health, substance use and/or trauma)
- Cultural competencies with knowledge of tikanga me te reo Māori
The successful candidate will provide leadership within the team upholding quality and best practice in client management as well as walking alongside people on their recovery journey as they build a sense of well-being and strong positive community connections.
As a senior member of the team which has a kaupapa Māori approach, this person will also be responsible for acknowledging and enhancing the mana of the people he/she works with. This includes providing a diverse range of person centred supports as identified by each individual participant to meet their unique set of needs goals and aspirations.
Housing First is an exciting programme established by the Auckland City Mission and Lifewise which provides rapid access to housing and wrap around supports to people experiencing chronic homelessness in Auckland city centre.
