Family Support Team

The Champion Centre is an early intervention service which works with children and their whānau/families from 0-6 years of age with significant developmental delays.

We are seeking a Kaiwhakapuawai to support Māori and Pasifika whānau who attend therapy/educational programmes at The Champion Centre.

If you fit the criteria below, we welcome your application.

Essential: a registered social worker (or working towards SWRB Registration); experience working with Māori and Pasifika; knowledge of Te Reo and Tikanga; good communication skills.

Desirable: experience working with whānau/families raising a child with a disability; good community networks; an understanding of cultural and linguistic diversity; an understanding of the impact of grief, sudden change or trauma on family dynamics; ability to work as a member of multidisciplinary teams.
