We are looking for a Restoring Family Links (RFL) Coordinator to lead and manage the strategic direction and daily programme operations of the nationwide RFL service.
The RFL service, is part of the global family links network of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (the Movement). The Movement RFL services aim to prevent separation and disappearances, restore and maintain contact between family members, and clarify the fate of persons reported missing where separation occurred due to armed-conflict, disaster, migration or other situations of humanitarian need.
In New Zealand, the RFL service provides support and referral to individuals and families separated by armed conflict, disaster and migration, including the assessment of requests for assistance to locate family members; and deliver other RFL services. The RFL Coordinator will manage and supervise a small remote team which consists of 2 part-time RFL Practitioners based in Auckland and Christchurch, and volunteers. The Coordinator will be responsible for establishing, developing and maintaining Red Cross Movement relationships, national, regional and local stakeholder relationships and providing leadership, direction, advice and training to Red Cross staff, members and volunteers regarding RFL.
The RFL programme is situated in the National Migration Programmes department and has operational engagement across other programme teams including; Disaster Risk Management, Humanitarian Development, International Programmes, and International Humanitarian Law.
Limited international and domestic travel will be required.
