The Whānau Resource Centre o Pukekohe provides culturally appropriate support, advocacy, education, and intervention to Whānau in crisis, targeting Wahine who have dependent tamariki. Job tasks and responsibilities.
We are looking for a social worker with a strong commitment to their work, who can face up to the challenges of the role and work together with the in-house team.
Our aim is to provide programmes that will present or reduce social problems, and to work in an appropriate way with whānau who are affected by such problems. By intervening early, social workers can work with tamariki, their whānau, local NGOs and government organisations, and schools, to help protect vulnerable tamariki and develop plans to improve their safety, wellbeing, health, and educational outcomes.
Skills and experiences
You must be an experienced Senior Social Worker and hold a current Social Work Registration and have a full clean driver’s licence.
The successful applicant will be able to evidence their experiences, successes, commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and be able to work in a bi-cultural context as well as have local knowledge, outstanding self-management skills and be relatively fluent in Te Reo.
In this role you will be required to submit, and return a clear report, to a Police Vetting process.
The remuneration will reflect the candidates experience.
