We are a not for profit agency based in Papatoetoe providing crucial support to those affected by sexual and family violence. We are seeking two experienced social services professionals with a knowledge of the complex dynamics of these areas, and ideally with experience in crisis intervention.
We are looking for two special dedicated individuals who can cope calmly with diverse and pressured situations. You will pride yourself on your resilience and flexibility and are comfortable supporting clients within a multi disciplinary environment.
You will be a qualified social services professional, registered with the Social Workers Registration Board and ideally with links to local iwi and other relevant Māori networks. Our social workers provide psychosocial assessments and supportive interventions in a culturally sensitive and appropriate manner, underpinned by the principles in the Treaty of Waitangi. All activities are in accordance with Social Work practice standards, organisational policies and sexual violence principles.

Crisis Response Social Worker
This role is part of a Crisis Response team based in Manukau. The role provides a comprehensive Social Work service to individuals and their families experiencing sexual harm and includes frontline support with clients helping them through police and health processes. The objective of the role is to improve the experience for clients, including family/ whānau who have experienced sexual violence by delivering evidence-based intervention and assessments. This will improve the overall access and timeliness of access to counselling and social support services.
This role is part of a multi disciplinary team based in Papatoetoe. The role provides an effective social work service to adults, children, young people and their families/whānau in the Counties Manukau area, ensuring needs are met. Working in collaboration with other teams within Counselling Services Centre the role assists in the seamless delivery of advocacy and support services to families/whānau, including co-ordination with referral agencies as required. There are project opportunities within the role including delivery of a school-based program supporting pupils who have been affected by family violence. Having ACC accreditation would be an advantage.

Our Services include:
Crisis Response Team
24/7 free and confidential crisis response service for anyone affected by sexual harm which includes assault or abuse.
Free and confidential support for people who go through the justice process, during and after trial.
Our counselling team accept self-referrals and referrals from other agencies and services. Our counsellors are registered with a professional body such as NZAC and NZCCA, and most are ACC registered.
Our social work team provide advocacy, support services and resources. Our social workers are registered with SWRB
