Team Leader – Adult Community Service, Auckland

Adult Community Services consists of large clinical and non-clinical teams delivering nursing and allied health services to the Auckland community. Our aim is to provide these services close to home to enable people in managing their own health to remain independent and well. This is an exciting opportunity as the service has rolled-out a locality model and the team are looking for qualified and experienced people leaders to join the Community Services leadership team.

The Team Leader will lead a multidisciplinary team that include both allied health and nursing staff that serve a local community. Whilst demonstrating strong leadership, you will champion the locality model of service by developing close relationships with hospital services, primary care, community providers, other locality teams and the local community.

As a Team Leader you will:

  • Provide clinical, day-to-day leadership and direction for your locality team.
  • Provide operational and HR management for individuals within your locality team.
  • Oversee the operational performance of your locality to ensure the service meets the needs of the community and delivered within budget.
  • Oversee and maintain clinical governance practices within your locality and contribute to the wider clinical governance systems, processes and structures within Community Services
  • Develop and advance services within your locality including developing relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the leadership, development and management of community services within the directorate.

The position requires a self-motivated and conscientious leader with a strong clinical and patient focus. You will relish the challenges and enjoy working in a supportive environment. You will have a positive attitude, flexibility and a proven ability to form good relationships with staff and patients.

You must be clinically qualified in a relevant field of practice (Allied Health) and registered in New Zealand, holding a current Annual Practicing Certificate if relevant.

This is a permanent, full time role (40 hours per week).
