Team Leader Social Worker & Other Positions, Wellington HELP
Wellington Sexual Abuse HELP Foundation is a not-for-profit foundation which ensures access to a wrap-around healing service to support survivors of sexual abuse and their whānau. Our core services include crisis support, social work and counselling. Our team comprises approximately 40 people and we work in the areas of Wellington, Porirua and Kāpiti. Due to new direction and a focus on the improvement of our services, we are seeking team members for the following positions:
1. Full-time, Permanent Team Leader Social Work
This position is a full-time, permanent Team Leader role, required to lead a team of 5 Social Workers, who work across our three offices. The person will be a qualified Social Worker, experienced in people management, be highly organized, and understand social work in the context of treating trauma for survivors of sexual abuse and violence.

2. Part-time or Full-time, Permanent On-call Crisis Support Workers (Day-time or After-hours)
We are seeking empathetic people for our 24/7 Crisis Support Team. Ideally you will have experience working with vulnerable people or in crisis situations, excellent interpersonal skills and an understanding of the issues and impact of rape and sexual abuse.
There is an opportunity to work day shifts, after-hours or both, depending on your availability. As part of an on-call team, you will work from home, provide telephone support for callers on our support line and attend call outs to police stations or medical clinics.
A current driver’s licence and access to a vehicle are required for this position. Crisis workers are also required to live within a 30-minute drive of both Wellington and Porirua. 3. Part-time, Fixed Term Counsellor Coordinator
This position is part-time (2 days per week) on a 4-month fixed term contract. The purpose of the position is to provide a focus on the important work our contractor counsellors perform and waitlist management. The position will coordinate counsellors, manage waitlists and ensure more timely and effective service provision to clients.
The person will be familiar with operating within ACC guidelines (ideally an ACC counsellor), personable and approachable, have strong management skills, be detail orientated, and mature in outlook and have an understanding of counselling in the context of treating trauma for survivors of sexual abuse and violence.
