About our team

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) is a regional service for children and youth with serious mental health disorders up to aged 18 years. Our multi-disciplinary team is made up of Psychiatrists, Mental Health Nurses, Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers; all trained in a range of treatment modalities including cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), case management, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), group work and psychopharmacology.

About the role

We are looking for a Youth Forensic Case Manager to join our team in Blenheim. In this role you will screen and assess youth who have offended and are affected by mental health, or alcohol and drug related issues. You will facilitate access to services for young people and develop comprehensive treatment and care plans. This is important work and we can’t do it alone. A big part of this role is working with other agencies and providers to offer a wrap-around service to our young people.

This is a permanent full-time position working 80 hours a fortnight.

About you

You will need to be a registered Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Nurse. You will be experienced in working with young people and you will be up to date with current research relating to mental health and trends in youth offending. You will have a background in delivering comprehensive assessments and evidence based interventions for youth.

You will need to fit into a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines and will engender confidence, trust and rapport with clients, their support networks and other agencies and service providers.
