Qualifications BSW, Post grad Diploma in Social Service Supervision (Distinction), MANZASW, Reg.SW
Supervision Interests Over 25 years social work experience, including working with families and in care and protection, Strengthening Families Co-ordination, facilitation, EAP work, training and supervision in NZ and in London.

Practice experience also includes training and teaching in the Massey University’s BSW and Supervision programmes, and the role of National Assessor for ANZASW competency.  As well as being involved in a voluntary basis for a variety of community organisations over the years.

I have also been a member of ANZASW for 25 years and have been on the Manawatu-Whanganui ANZASW branch committee on and off for over 12 years and was Chairperson for the branch for four of those years.  I have held a previous service cooordinator role with HCN unit.

As well as supervision, my private consultancy business engages me in EAP work, facilitation, training workshops and social work consultation.

Experience My supervision practice has included nearly 20 years of student placement supervision, internal and external professional supervision for social workers and other paraprofessionals, and group and peer supervision as well as with individuals.
In addition to working with social workers I currently engage in supervision with teachers, nurses, counsellors, youth workers, Occupational therapists and others in the social service sector.I work in a collaborative and strength-based approach, which also includes a strong reflective and ecological and social justice approach, and weaves in bicultural practice through the use of te whare tapa wha and other concepts from Te Ao Maori as appropriate and when supervisee led.
My supervision practice is currently located mainly in the Manawatu, and two days per month I am based in Porirua, working from the 4th floor, Pember House on Hagley Street, Porirua
